What is Halloween?
Halloween is a festival celebrated specially in Europe and North America, this is considered as a non-religious festival. Normally, Halloween is celebrated on 31st October. The origin of Halloween festival comes from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. This festival represents the darkness and cold Winter which arrives at the end of the Summer and the end of harvest. Usually this season (Winter) is considered as the time which is associated to human deaths. Those who celebrates Halloween are engaged in the activities like trick-or-treating, craving jack-o-lanterns, festive gathering, visiting haunted houses, donning costumes, and eating treats. Nowadays, Halloween festivals are celebrated all over the world. And there are special arrangements are done to celebrate this. Halloween is a favorite celebration among the Candy-lovers.
How we celebrate Halloween?
Halloween is a festival that is entitled with pranks and entertainment activities related to horror. Halloween parties are celebrated town-wide spreading entertainment. On Halloween night the children are dressed up in dark, black clothes with accessories that highlights the horror. They dressed up with those costumes and go for trick or treating around their neighborhood. Meanwhile, the elders dress up with dark clothes and throw parties.
What is Trick and Treating?
This only happens on Halloween evening. The children are dressed up in Halloween costumes and go door by door of their neighborhood, normally they dress up as martyrs and saints. When they go door to door, those who receives them at their doorsteps will have to receive them by answering their questions. Also they should treat the children with candies,ales,soul cakes or money.

Halloween is considered as a spooky holiday, therefore costumes are no longer necessary. Yet most of the people are used to wear Halloween costumes. Halloween costumes are very creative. Some prefer to wear masks as well. These Halloween costumes are categorized into different categories, they are,

Halloween Parties
The Halloween parties are celebrated by decorating the houses with scary decors from both inside and outside of the house. This is a festival celebrated within our favorite people, by listening to spooky music and watching horror movies, they normally talk about the witches, ghosts, and stories related to horror things. There are several games such as Bobbing for apples, Fortune telling in Halloween parties. They also set Ouija boards, Ouija boards are called Spirit boards or Talking boards, it is shaped as heart shaped pointer, which is called planchette, the flat board consists of letters from A to Z and numbers from zero to nine. It says that the messages that are come from these boards are called the messages of the dead spirits. Months before the Halloween, there are shops which have all the materials required for the Halloween party decorations. They decors the ordinary furniture with ghosts and scary appearances. They wear the costumes of vampire, Star Wars characters, horror characters, costumes of clowns. They blow up ghost balloons and decorates the roofs and staircases full of haunted vibe.
Halloween punch is a very popular part in Halloween parties. Halloween punch is a drink which has colored in blood red with scaring decorations. Often people make assortment of scrumptious with Halloween theme, Candy apple skulls, vampire fang cookies and layer candy corn parfait are some of those food items.

This a tradition of Halloween, this is a very entertaining activity that takes place almost every Halloween party. It is a common entertaining activity for both children and elders. First, we take a bucket and fill it with water also we dumb apples into it, the game is done by a one person at a time. He/she should pluck the apples in the water bucket by using their mouths. The others can bet over them.
- Fortune telling
This is a game of Tarot reading. This game has been practiced in the earlier Halloween celebrations, due to the internet and social media now it has been popped up. In this game a fortune teller predicts of your future, about your relationships, goals and fortunes. It is also played among a group of people by choosing tarot cards, astrology, psychic mediums, angle cards. This is an entertaining activity which will solves your doubts regarding future, it gives you the insights and implications of future.
Crave jack-o-lanterns
This is the first thing that comes to our mind when we talk about Halloween. This is a popular decoration in Halloween parties. Here, a pumpkin is used for the decorating purpose in a form of a lantern. The top of the pumpkin is removed and take out the seeds and the pulp and cut the frightening faces on the pumpkin. Children and adults are participating in this lantern makings. On Halloween nights these pumpkins are set outside and inside with a lighting candle. Also, small children enjoy painting these jack-o-lanterns, and they prepare for the upcoming celebration.
Some people follow the Halloween tradition of smashing jack-o-lanterns to protect them from rotting.
Halloween is an entertaining celebration which is the second commercial festival in united Stated after Christmas celebration, it is also celebrated in the other parts of the world as well. However, the whole world becomes the part of this celebration with the changes of it’s practice and with the new trends of celebration patterns. Halloween continues to change as new tradition by joining to oldest Celtic practices.
